Multi Sport Camps Were A HIT
Just in time for the school year to begin and a new chapter of YDU programming, we were fortunate to partner with the Chester Upland School District and Eddystone Borough to host two, three day multi-sport camps. Over 60 students had an opportunity to participate in STEM activities, Pickleball, Golf, Soccer and Flag Football. A special thanks to the staff and partners in hosing the camp - First Tee Greater Philadelphia, Fishers Finest Flag Football, Loomis Racquet Academy, and Widener University faculty - Nadine McHenry, Steve Madigosky and Samantha Pezzimenti who provided daily STEM activities.
In just a few weeks we will be welcoming new Coach-Mentors to work with over 400 students throughout Chester, Upland and Eddystone this academic year through out-of-school activities. We will once again be supported by the U.S. Soccer Foundation and their game changing Soccer for Success curriculum for the 14th year in a row. Participants will also have an opportunity to participate in Golf, Racquet Sports, Flag Football, Wrestling, Martial Arts, Volleyball, Baseball/Softball and Lacrosse during out-of-school programs. In addition to trying many of these activities for the first time we will be coordinating opportunities for students (and their families) to attend a variety of professional and college events throughout the Greater Philadelphia area this year.
Stay tuned for new partnerships to be announced and Community Events to attend…
