Celebrate Chester's Sports History

On May 2nd, join Youth Development United, Widener University, the City of Chester, Chester Upland School District and other community partners as we host the History of Sport in Chester - Storybook Walk.

Festivities will be held from 11am-3pm at Eyre Park (adjacent Chester High School). Attendees will have a chance to learn about Chester’s storied history from the late 1800s through present day, incorporating:

  • More than 20 interactive displays showcasing athletes, coaches and teams who have proudly represented Chester.

  • Sports Clinics will be held for youth throughout the day.

  • Art installations and hands-on activities.

  • Local food vendors.

  • Equipment, sports apparel and bike give-aways.

  • Photo and autograph opportunities.

  • Nonprofits will also be on hand to share about resources available throughout the community.
