Spring 2025 Season Wrap Up!

As the 2025 season has wrapped up, we are proud to share the meaningful impact of this year’s Soccer for Success programming. Thanks to the support of our partners and the dedication of our staff and volunteers, hundreds of children in Chester and surrounding communities gained access to free, high-quality after-school sports and wellness education. We are beyond grateful to have received a Community/Organization Partnership Award from Chester Upland School District for our work this past school year. Many thanks for this recognition!

Our participants represented a wide range of backgrounds:

  • 44 percent are female; 56 percent are male.

  • 23 percent are in kindergarten through second grade; 66 percent are in third through fifth grade; 11 percent are in sixth through eighth grade.

  • 67 percent identify as African American; 9 percent identify as Caucasian; 6 percent identify as Hispanic/Latino; 1 percent identify as Asian; 1 percent identify as Native American; 14 percent identify as Other/Multi-Ethnic; 3 percent did not share their ethnicity.

Notably, 27% of children had never played soccer before joining the program—highlighting the importance of what we do.

What They Learned & Loved

Survey results show that Soccer for Success continues to make a powerful impression:

  • 87% said, “I like the game of soccer more.”

  • 95% agreed, “I feel better about myself.”

  • 95% said, “I enjoy working with my teammates more.”

  • 97% said, “I make healthier choices when deciding what to eat or drink.”

  • 100% agreed, “I enjoy the idea of physical activity more than I did before.”

  • 100% agreed, “I understand the importance of being properly hydrated.”

  • 92% said, “I try harder to stay away from violence and fighting.”

  • 95% said, “I want to participate in more sports and activities.”

We look forward to continuing this work into the next season, building healthier futures for the children of the Greater Chester Area.
